He is said to have hailed from Britain and to have emigrated to Brittany with a large number of followers. This, however, was probably invented to explain his supposed British Dumnonian ancestry; though it is possible he held lands on both sides of the Channel. In Brittany, Riwal found it politic to pay homage to King Lothaire I of the Franks, as well as his cousins in Cornouaille, in order to secure his position. When Prince Fracan of Cerniw settled in Domnonée, he quickly had a set to with his new monarch. Riwal claimed to have a much swifter horse than Fracan, but the latter could not agree. They organised a race to decide whose beast was the best, but the new arrival's jockey fell and was nearly killed. Luckily, Fracan's son, St. Winwaloe was able to heal him. Riwal may have been impressed by this saint's miracle working for he became a patron of the church and gave much land to his cousin, St.Brioc. Riwal probably died around AD 520 and was succeeded by his son as Deroch II."

Find A Grave memorial 141155051 offers Dorothy's obituary: "Dorothy D. Bakeman, 93, passed away July 20, 2016 at the Island Nursing Home. She was born in Castine, October 2, 1922 the daughter of Evelyn G. (Candage) and David E. Dyer. Mrs. Bakeman went off to teaching school and returned to educate many, many children in the Brooksville and Deer Isle area. She taught all of her 6 children in the classroom while being the old fashioned teaching principal and her husband, "Gook" drove the bus. Mrs. Bakeman was known as a true lady by all who knew her. Mom was a beautiful cook who loved to do Christmas cookie trays, quilting, crocheting, and always made sure everyone had mittens. Mother was always a safe confidant to her many children and grandchildren in their different times of need while maneuvering through this life.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Frank Bakeman, Robert and his wife Helen, Elaine Murak, Mary Ellen and husband Cordell Gross, Elizabeth and husband Robert Herrick and David Bakeman grandchildren, Keara and husband Donnie Wallace, Adrienne and husband Tony Beaulieu, Trisha and husband James Friend, Nicole Bakeman, Amber and husband Michael Ranney, Keith Murak and wife Kristin, Gail and husband Peter Grant, Molly Varnum and partner Scott Grindle, Annie and husband Keith Tilsley, Melanie and husband Ed Schleich and Sara Herrick; sister, Alice Dyer; brother, Elmer and wife Magda Dyer; many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Dorothy was predeceased by husband Oliver; siblings, Verna, Linwood, Fred, Victor, George; life's best friend Aunt Nellie Moores; and granddaughter Kristen Marie Herrick."

She was a noted author and 30 year resident of the Pompano/Deerlield Beach area, died in her home in Deerfield Beach, January 7, 1987, after a short Illness. She wrote many murder mysteries for publishers, Farrar and Rinehart of NY City. She was also published in Penquin Books, Bantam Books, The Detectives Book Club, The Mystery Club Guild and for the Armed Servicea of the U.S.A., as well as, serialized in the Woman's Home Companion Magazine. In addition, her work was published in seven countries and five languages overseas and in braille. Some of her better known works were entitled, A Body For Bill, Never Say Die, Head Over Heals In Murder, As Long As I Live, Ready Or Not, Murder Well Done, The Dark Arbor and Pattern For Murder. Formerly of Akron, OH, Mrs. Shriber is survived by her daugher and son-in-law, Stephanie and Marvin B. Ellis, of Boca Raton, FL; granddaughter, Loraine B. Sandberg, were long time residents of Akron and Mr. Sandberg was the founder of the Waldorf Ice Cream Factory. Mrs. Shriber was member of The Junior League, listed In Who's Who In America, Women's Auxiliary of Broward Hospital, Women's Auxilllary of Akron General Hospital and several Bridge Groups in Boca Raton to Miami, FL with a book full of Master Points."
