[13211] - See The Great Migration Begins: Immigrants to New England 1620-1633, Vol. II, Robert Charles Anderson (Boston: NEHGS, 1995), p. 927. Betsy Foster (see under Richard Hicks) reports; "Lydia married Edward Bangs and their daughter Rebecca married Jonathan Sparrow on October 28, 1654 in Eastham, MA. ...following reference to the Sparrow family ... I found it out in the library in Barrington, Illinois: Sparrow, Richard, born England; died New England Jan 8, 1660: Certain members of the Sparrow family of England owned shares in the Virginia Company and were probably among the early planters of Jamestown, but had become discouraged about conditions in that settlement previous to 1630; therefore, it is not surprising to find Richard Sparrow, his wife and son Jonathan residents of Plymouth as early as 1632. The will of Richard is dated Nov 19, 1660."

[24663] John, AKA Johannes Sieger, was among the first Council members of Zion Lutheran Church in Blain, 1815.. John m. (2) Abalona ______ (b. 1772 in Huntingdon Co., PA, d. 10 Sept 1854, buried in Blain, PA). John bought a farm one mile north of New Germantown in Perry Co., PA. He is thought to be son of Matthias Seager, b. in the Palatinate (Germany), who came to America on the ship Phoenix 15 Sept 1749 and settled in Schuylkill Co., PA - see "Flickinger Families of the United States," the Rev'd Robert Flickinger (Des Moines, IA: Success Composition and Printing, 1927). http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~carbdat/m&h/34_n-whthll.htm offers: "The first of the Siegers, whose Christian name is supposed to have been Melchior, came from Würtemberg, Germany, about 1750, and settled, in company with the Gross and the Guth families, on a tract of land upon which Siegersville stands. He built a log residence on the road leading from Philadelphia to the Blue Mountains, laid out in the time of King George III, in a portion of country well watered, but overgrown in scrub-oak. At his death his son, Samuel, succeeded him in the ownership of the farm. He built the old stone hotel at Siegersville, still standing. The latter died in 1835, at the age of seventy-five, leaving a large family of children, among whom were John, Michael, Peter, and George. John Sieger was a prominent man in the township in his day, . . . " See "The Perry Review, Vol. 30 - 2009" (Newport, PA: The Perry Historians), p. 17. Ancestry.com offers: "Sieger Name Meaning - German: from the Germanic personal name Sigiheri, a compound of sigi victory + heri army."
