The funeral arrangements have not as yet been made, but the interment will be made at Lebanon. Harrisburg Independent. [Lebanon Daily News, July 6, 1901, Page 2] The funeral of Frederick Kohle (sic), whose death occurred last Thursday at Harrisburg, was held in this city Sunday morning. During Sunday the remains. accompanied by a number of friends, were brought to this city. The cortege proceeded to the Dunkard meeting house, near Fredericksburg, where interment was made. Born on September 11, 1947, he was the son of Robert and Mary Wardwell. David proudly served his country as a United States Navy veteran who received a Purple Heart during his service Vietnam. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long and dedicated career of more than 30 years with Champion/International Paper. David had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He loved traveling across the country, visiting casinos, playing cribbage and attending sporting events. He had a lifelong passion for antiques and rare coins, and he delighted in music and dancing. In retirement, he and his wife, Bonita, spent more than 20 years living in Jonesport with their beloved Golden Retrievers, Abby and Lindsey. Known for his warm and friendly nature, David enjoyed making new friends and socializing at local restaurants and diners. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Wardwell; his daughter, Maegan Angeles (Wardwell), and her daughter, Mia Angeles; his son, Mark Wardwell, and his wife, Katie, and their daughters, Sam and Alyson; his son, Matthew Wardwell, and his son, William Wardwell; stepdaughters, Kim, Kathy, and Becky and their families; and his sisters, Linda Kilbourn and Sally Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brother Robert Jr. and Stephen. David will be remembered for his kindness, humor, and the joy he brought to all who knew him."
