[12513] "News-Press [Mansfield, OH], 4 September 2006," p. 4: "Bellville - Kay D. Barr, 54, of Renie Road, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, in her home. She died after a six-year illness. She was born May 17, 1952, in Mansfield, to Forrest and Juanita M. (Spayde) Heldenbrand, was graduated from Clear Fork High School in 1970, and remained a lifelong area resident. In 1994, she began working in the quality control department of Gorman Rupp Industries in Bellville as an inspector, serving 12 years. Kay belonged to Irvin Hiskey Post 535 American Legion Auxiliary and William O. Naylor Post 43 AMVETS Auxiliary. She liked to play Bingo games about anywhere in Bellville, Fredericktown or Mansfield, and loved to drag her sisters and mother along for the ride. Kay also fostered a community of online buddies, playing games or just chatting. She mastered her computer to play euchre, pinochle, dominoes, pool and Internet games. Very family oriented, she was characterized by her love for her family, how she adored her children and husband and was devoted to her extended family. Blessed with kindness, Kay is described as a 'caring person who would do anything for anybody' who enjoyed even the simple pleasures of sitting around a campfire with family and friends. She is survived by her husband Phillip A. Barr, whom she married April 22, 1994; her daughter Melanie Heichel and her son Troy Heichel both of Bellville; a sister Bonnie Wise and her companion Wayne Kilgore of Bellville, a sister Genevieve Kochheiser of Bellville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Luanne and Larry Dill, Raymond Jr. and Sharon Barr, Thomas R. and Nancy Barr, all of Bellville, and John A. and Linda Barr of Jeromesville; an aunt, Vernie Crouse of Mansfield; and numerous cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. Her parents preceded her in death, as did her brother, Thomas Heldenbrand. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dr. Michael V. Stine will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery."
