(Dunkel) Blatt He was the owner of the Kutztown Diner for 40 years before retiring in 1987. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Darius L. and Martha M. (Bright) Blatt He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown. He served with the Marines in World War II. Survivors: Wife; son Michael J. of Macungie; brothers D. Charles of Kutztown R.4, and Robert L. of Reading; sister Theresa, wife of Leo Heydt of Fleetwood R.1, and two grandchildren."

"The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine], 11 September 1995", p. 16: "Fairfield - Elizabeth Hutchins Shibles, 78, of Fairfield, died unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, Sept. 9, 1995. She. was born on March 5, 1917, in North Penobscot, the daughter of Raymond and Annie (Wilson) Hutchins. She graduated from Crosby High School in 1934. Elizabeth then married David S. Shibles on Aug. 4, 1934. She was married to him for 34 years until his death in September of 1968. She was predeceased by two sons, Merlon and Darrell; and a sister, Evelyn Bryant. She resided in Belfast for most of her life and worked for the Belfast School Department in the hot lunch program before she retired in 1983. She belonged to the T.O.P.S. organization, the Eastern Star in Belfast, and the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Fairfield. Elizabeth then moved to Fairfield where she resided for the last 10 years to live with her daughter and family. She will be sadly missed by all of her friends and family. Survivors include one son, Raymond Shibles and wife, Carolyn, of Naples, Fla.; two daughters, Norine Goss of Bangor, Peggy Pellerin and husband, James, of Fairfield Center; one sister, Bertha Bowden of East Holden; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins."
