He had eight sons and two daughters with Mary Crawford. He died on November 29, 1854, in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, at the age of 60. . . . Mary Crawford was born in Pennsylvania. . . . . On February 4, 1868, she died in Raccoon, Pennsylvania."

Their children were: Lewis (ca 1835); Isaac (September 12, 1836-April 27, 1919) married Susannah Umholtz; Isabella (July 5, 1839-February23,1917) married Absalom Gottschall; Harriett (ca 1840);Charles (1841/1842); Solomon (1843); Maria (1845-1915) married Emanuel Schwalm; Savilla (March 18, 1848-November 8, 1882) married John D. Hepler; John Andrew (1849-1919) married Marie Maurer; and Samuel (b. 1855). Savilla Coleman Hepler and her eight year old daughter, Mary Martha Hepler, died tragically in a house fire on November 8, 1882 and are buried at St. Matthew's (Coleman) Church cemetery."
