[675] Edmund's brother the Archbishop was burned at the stake in Oxford 21 March 1555. They were born at Aslacton, a hamlet in the parish of Whatton, in Nottinghamshire, but the family had originated in Sutterton, Lincolnshire. Edmund is the third son. His brother Thomas appointed him his Archdeacon 09 March 1534, as well as Provost of Wingham College and the rectories of Cliff and Ickham in Kent. Edmund was married by 1534. He followed his brother in the English Reformation, and when his brother was martyred Edmund fled to Germany. Although he visited Aslancton in 1561, he was still abroad at his death (per letters of administration to his son Thomas 20 April 1571). {Ref. [58959] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 7 March 2025: "Ernol Ray Huntley, 79, died February 25, 2025, at home with his beloved Sonya by his side after a 10 year battle with cancer, a challenge he met with grace, humor and determination. Ray was born April 4, 1945, on Beals Island, the son of James and Lillian (Lenfestey) Huntley. His love of boating and the ocean began when he was growing up on Moosabec Reach and lobstering with his father as a 5 year old. Ray was a graduate of Jonesport High School, class of 1963. He attended technical school in Portland, University of Hawaii, was in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during the Vietnam War, and graduated from University of Maine Machias. Ray worked as a vice president in banking for 33 years. He served his community as director of SAD 37 and a member and past president of the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce. He was the director of WHCA, member and past president of the Ellsworth Rotary, and the Elks Club. He was an Elder at Ellsworth Community of Christ. Ray is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sonya (Joy); his stepson, Raymond Young and wife, Erin; two very special granddaughters who could light up his life in a heartbeat, Sarah Elizabeth Young and Anna Katherine Young; his stepdaughter, Karmen Joy Young; brother-in-law, Merle Joy and family; and a very special nephew and niece, Gordon and Cathy Faulkingham and their three sons. He will be missed by all his golfing buddies. The family would like to thank all the caregivers from Florida to Maine who made his final years comfortable and memorable."
