He was born in Surry, May 25, 1872, and learned the stone-cutters trade when young man. He followed his trade until his health failed On November 25, 1903, he married Alice E. Billings, of Brooksville, and bought the Charles Gray place and engaged in farming. He was an honest, upright citizen, a kind and loving husband and father. He joined the Odd Fellows when a young man. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Fred, Clarence, Victor and Frank, all of this place; four daughters, Dorothy Peasley, of West Brooksvllle; Mrs. Agnes Limeburner, Mrs Ella Gray and Beulah Fowler, of this place. One daughter, Mrs. Susie Gray, died four years ago, and three children died in infancy. There are sixteen grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Mina Rowan, of Surry; one brother, Charles, of Bar Harbor, and an uncle, Moses Fowler, of Searsmont." Lemuel is son of Olin N. Fowler (1845-1922) & Phebe A. Lord (1839-1925; m. in 1870).

[40470] Find A Grave Memorial 53646825 offers: "Antoinette (Minnie) Walters was born in Germany February 25, 1860. She married Heinrich (Henry) Voss. After coming to the United States they settled in Avoca, Iowa. Children born to Henry and Minnie were Emma Bertha, born June 2, 1879; Martha Ann born September 5, 1881; Antoinette Minnie born May 3, 1883; Alma born December 6, 1884; Hertha born November 10, 1886 and Henry (Heinie) William June 21, 1888. In the early 1900s some of the Voss family homesteaded in Canada near the present town of Marsden. Some of them remained in Canada all their lives. Henry passed away Nov. 8, 1887 in Avoca, Iowa at the age of 32; and Minnie later married a Mr. Study. She passed away August 3, 1908. Both are buried in the Avoca, Iowa cemetery. Information was obtained from family members, family biographies, marriage, death certificates and cemetery records."
