Gloria was born in Castine, the daughter of Christine (DeLaite) Walton and Fredrick Atwood. Gloria graduated from Bucksport High School in 1968. Gloria loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, traveling, reading books, working on her flower gardens, and took great pride in maintaining her home. In prior years, Gloria volunteered at the Talk and Shop thrift store with her sister, stepmother, and friends. Gloria was married to her High School sweetheart, Peter Mayo, for 51 years. She is survived by her daughter, Carrie Buechler and husband, Stephen, of Westland, Michigan; son, Brian Mayo and wife, Megan, of Shakopee, Minnesota; three grandchildren, Madalynn, Keanen and Kira Mayo, whom she adored; sister, June Philpott and husband, Jay, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; brothers, Allen Atwood and wife, Kathy, and Mark Atwood and wife, Kiki; sister-in-law, Bonnie Ross, of Ellsworth, Maine; sister-in-law, Roxie Kopke, of Nazareth, Pennsylvania; stepmother, Betsy Atwood, of Prospect, Maine; Stepmother-in-law, Luverne Mayo, of Ft. [46894] "Lincoln Beacon, 29 June 1893": "John Coil died of cancer, June 21, 1893, aged 76 years, 8 months and 3 days, at the home of his son-in-law, John Pinkerton of Lincoln. He was born in Stark county, Ohio, Oct. 15, 1817, and moved to Marshall county, Ind., in 1886. From there he moved to Harrison county, Mo., in May 1865; and to Lincoln county, Kan., March 23, 1878. He was married Feb. 3, 1839, to Miss Elizabeth Helper [sic], who, with four children, survive him. His surviving children reside in this county, as follows: Mrs. John Pinkerton and Mrs. Logan Fancher, at Lincoln, Uriah and William Coil, at Herman, eight miles northwest of Lincoln. Mr. Coil engaged in farming, milling and auctioneering at different times in his life and had handled a large volume of business. He was a church member most of the time since arriving at man's estate and was much respected as a man of generous impulses and honorable life. The funeral was held at Mr. Pinkerton's home and the interment was made in the old Pfaff cemetery." Find A Grave memorial 10731141 reports: " The above named children and widow (Elizabeth Hepler Coil) of John Coil moved to Geary, Blaine County, Oklahoma not long after his death. Mrs. Susan Coil Pinkerton and her husband, Mrs. Hannah Coil Fancher, Uriah Coil and William Coil are buried in Geary Cemetery, Blaine, Oklahoma."
