Ancestry.com offers: "Booth Name Meaning - Northern English and Scottish: topographic name for someone who lived in a small hut or bothy, Middle English both(e), especially a cowman or shepherd. The word is of Scandinavian origin (compare Old Danish both, Old Norse buð) and was used to denote various kinds of temporary shelter, typically a cowshed or a herdsman's hut. In the British Isles the surname is still more common in northern England, where Scandinavian influence was more marked, and in Scotland, where the word was borrowed into Gaelic as both(an)."

The unverified Day Family Tree in Ancestry.com in 2015 offers: "When Robert Day was born on July 31, 1604, in Ipswich, Suffolk, his father, Richard, was 29 and his mother, Anna, was 25. He married Editha Stebbins in 1636. They had four children in 10 years. He died on October 16, 1648, in Hartford, Connecticut, at the age of 44, and was buried there."
Find A Grave Memorial 34128984 offers: "Born about 1604 (aged 30 in 1634). Came to Massachusetts Bay in 1634 on the 'Elizabeth.' (On 30 April 1634, "Robert Day," aged 30, and "Mary his wife," aged 28, were enrolled at Ipswich for passage to New England on the Elizabeth.) First settled in Cambridge; moved to Hartford by 1639. Died between 20 May 1648 (date of will) and 14 October 1648 (date of inventory).
Marriages:
(1) By 1634 Mary _____, born about 1606 (aged 28 in 1634. She must have died soon after arrival in New England, or perhaps even on the voyage in 1634.
(2) By about 1636 Editha Stebbins, sister of Edward Stebbins {1633, Cambridge}. She married (2) by an unknown date John Maynard and (3) by 1663 (and probably earlier) Eleazar Holyoke. She died at Springfield 25 October 1688.
Robert Day migrated with and lived near Nathaniel Ely {1634, Cambridge}, and so some relationship is possible.
He had no known children by his first marriage and four by the second.
Various authors have misallocated the early records for this immigrant and Robert Day {1635, Ipswich}. Savage got it right; in 1953 Jacobus carefully set forth the arguments for the correct interpretation."

Jonathan Foster was born on the 30th of January in 1704. The son of Caleb Foster and Mary Sherman. Grandson of Abraham Foster & Lydia Burbank, great grandson of Reginald Foster of Exeter, Devonshire, England & Judith Wigol.
Jonathan was married twice 1st he married Jemima Cummings in Ipswich, MA on 1 Jan, 1733. She was the daughter of Isaac Cummings and Alice Howlet. Later Jemima Cummings Foster died on the 16th of May in 1751. Then in Topsfield, MA Jonathan married 2nd (my ancestor) Dorcas Perkins, daughter of Joseph Perkins and Mercy Robinson on the 17th Dec in 1751. (See. Ref. below.)
It is estimated that Jonathan Foster had 15 children between his two wives, their children's names were published in Geo. E. Foster book "Genealogy" in 1897. I have only found a few of the children's names recorded in the Massachusetts vital records so far including their parents names.
Children from Jemima: Affe B: 4 Dec.1734, Philemon B:17 Feb. 1737, Apphia D:12 Aug. 1824, Jemima, Olive.
Children from Dorcas: Jonathan, *Moses 3 April 1755, Dorcas, Mary, Caleb, Mercy B: 20 Jan. 1761, Salome B: 4 Nov. 1766, Sarah, Philemon and John.

[144] Hugh and Isabella had, beside Guy, three other sons and three daughters - see "The Magnificent Century," Thomas B. Costain {Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Co. - check index.} Because of his rebellion against King John of England, Hugh was deprived of his fiancee Isabella of Angouleme and their appeal gave the French king the pretext for confiscating John's continental fiefs.
