[56936] "The Bangor Daily News [Bangor, Maine]," 9 August 2016: "Presque Isle - Cathy Lee Kinney, 50, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at her residence. She was born November 1, 1965, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Donna M. Spaulding and the late Paul R. Kinney. Cathy attended Presque Isle High School and earned her Associate's Degree in the Medical Administrative Assistant program at Northern Maine Technical College in 1991. She was employed at The Aroostook Medical Center as a caring and devoted Medical Assistant. Cathy previously operated a home daycare center for many years. She very much enjoyed being a daycare provider and developed lasting relationships with her daycare families. Cathy was an incredible mother and enjoyed being involved in all facets of her children's lives. Time spent with family was always very precious to Cathy, especially during the Christmas season. She also enjoyed kayaking and loved being close to the ocean. She is survived by her beloved children, son, Christopher Ray Nickerson of Rockland, and daughter, Jill Amber and husband, Eric Maynard of Windham; as well as their father and Cathy's life long friend, Jeffrey W. Nickerson. Along with her mother, Donna and stepfather, Donald Spaulding, Cathy is also survived by her four brothers, Gordon and wife, Cindy Kinney of Caribou, Mike and wife, Wendy Kinney of Presque Isle, John and wife, Ethel Kinney of Caribou, Richard and wife, Kelly Kinney of Presque Isle; one sister, and best friend, Michelle and husband, Edward Bragdon of Presque Isle; half sister, Kelly and husband, Rick Flaherty of Presque Isle; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends, including special family friend, Pipyr Dooley. She was predeceased by her infant sister, Joy Ann. Cathy was loved tremendously and will be greatly and sadly missed by everyone who knew her. She had a special gift of taking care of all those around her."
