[7717] David is said to be son of Ephraim Baughman and Liana Moore. However, the 1860 federal census in Tryone Twp., Perry Co., PA lists him, age 9, in the household of Graham Baughman (age 48, a laborer) and wife Lena (age 30). The 1900 and 1920 federal censuses of Saville Twp., PA lists David and Jennie and their children. The Perry County Times, 13 Aug 1931, p. 8: David Baughman, aged 80 years, 4 months, 5 days, a successful farmer of Spring township, died at his home at Falling Springs, Wednesday night about 12.30 of bright's disease and asthma, his last illness being of a few week's duration. He was born in Kennedy's Valley and years later resided at Saville, some years before removing to his farm at railing springs. He was married to Miss Jennie Hollenbaugh, near Waggoner's Mill, who with the following children survive: Thomas, at home, George, of Willoughby, O., Sarah, Mrs. Scuyler Brownley, of Galvin, Ill., Rachael. Mrs. Ray Sherman, of Bridgeport, Emma, Mrs. Freeman Shumaker, Mabel, Mrs. John Sargent and Harry, of Harrisburg, Frank, of Ickesburg. Also surviving are 22 grand children. He was the last of a family of six and a man who was highly respected, a member of the Lutheran church of Saville, served as school director one term and was a Democrat in politics. Funeral services were held in the Landisburg Church of God, Sunday at 10.30 a. m. and were conducted by the Rev. Wm. A. Spies. Burial in the Landisburg cemetery.

Apparently there was a statue of John Bridge in Cambridge Commons, Massachusetts.
It gives the following as inscriptions on the pedestal.
John Bridge, 1578 - 1665, left Braintree, Essex County, England, 1631, as a member of Rev. Mr. Booker's Company, settled here 1632 and stayed when that company removed to Connecticut. He had supervision of the furst public shcool established in Cambridge 1635, was selectman 1635 - 1652, deacon of the church 1636 - 1658, representative of the great and general court 1637 - 1641, and was appointed by that body to lay out lands in this town and beyond. This Puritan helped to establish here church, school and representative agovernment, and thus to plant a Christian commonwealth. Erected and given to the city September 20th 1882, by Samuel James Bridge of the sixth generation from John Bridge. They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. The statue was the work of the sculptor, Daniel French.

[43435] "Ancestors of a 21st century British family" at http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com in 2017 provides Josias' information and ancestry, and states: "Josias de Robillard left France at, or before, the Revocation [of the Edict of Nantes, October 22, 1685], leaving property valued at 19,000 livres (T.T. 232). He and his wife, Marie de La Rochefoucauld, appear in a List of Fugitives, 1685*, from Saintonge. They left a daughter, aged 4, who was placed in a convent. She was probably Marie Thérèse de Robillard, whose guardian, Philippe Benjamin de Mazières, sgr. du Passage, claimed the property of Josias de Robillard and his wife, "fugitifs de Xaintonge" (Arch. Presidial de Saintes. B). Their son Josias was naturalised in England 24 March 1689, and was called "Joseph Campagne" in the Naturalisation Roll. He died at Portarlington, where he was buried, 4 May 1737, having married Lady Jane Forbes (Granard). The de Robillard family were connected by marriage with that of Prévost de Touche-Imbert. It was still represented at Portarlington in 1793. * It seems they in fact fled in 1687? --- Robillard De Champagne was a noble family in Saintonge, several of whom took refuge in England and Ireland. The children of Josias de ROBILLARD, chevalier of Champagne, under the charge of their mother, escaped from La Rochelle concealed in an empty wine cask and arrived safe at Plymouth. Their father went into Holland and took service with the Prince of Orange. He afterward died at Belfast on his way to join his regiment in Ireland. Madame de CHAMPAGNE settled at Portarlington with her family. One of the CHAMPAGNE's sons, Josias, was an ensign in La Melonniere's Regiment of French infantry and fought at the Boyne. He afterward became a major of the 14th Foot. Several of his descendants served with distinction in the army, the Church and the civil service, while the daughters of the family have intermarried with various titled families in England and Ireland."

He is survived by his widow, the former Blanche Thompson; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Dorothy) Archer of Hanover; five grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren, and sisters, Mrs. Pearl Swihart and Mrs. Jennie Harpham, both of Coldwater."
