[12246] "The Pioneers of Massachusetts . . .," Charles Henry Pope (Baltimore: Gen. Pub. Co., 1998), p. 356 states Richard arrived at Salem, MA in 1641. This marriage and the children are unverified, and are listed as provided by a correspondent on internet, 10/95. They r. Salem, Wenham and Newbury, MA per Torrey's "New England Marriages Prior to 1700." Tradition says Richard is from Staffordshire, England; he was in Wenham, MA in 1648; the unverified Old World Tree entry in 2007 states he is son of Richard Pettingell, b. ca. 1596. In 1652 he came with wife to Newbury with several children.

[1837] Marcomir brought his people out of Scythia and conquered Gaul where they settled. He died in 412 B.C. http://www.aragon10.free-online.co.uk/myth.htm offers: "The Sicambrian Kings from whom the French Royal Family traces its descent were originally Scythians who were expelled to the Kingdom of Sicambria on the borders of Germany. First called Newmagae (New Kindred), they later became known as Sicambri and lastly Franks." Their seat became Guelderland in present-day Holland.
