[58308] "The Ellsworth American [Ellsworth, Maine]," 18 Decemberf 2024: "Hancock and Searsport - Dec. 7, 2024, Cecil Ernest Page Jr., went to be with Jesus surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 21, 1932, and grew up in Hancock. He loved the outdoors and hunting and was a proud Korean War veteran who bravely served in the combat zone in Korea in the Armys 7th Infantry, the 'Bayonet Division.' This distinctive unit insignia became the hallmark and symbol of the fighting spirit of the 7th Infantry in the Korean conflict. He was a Bronze Star Medal recipient for his heroic service. In 1957, Cecil Ernest married Helen Kief and together they had five children. He was a long-haul truck driver for most of his life and drove over 1,000,000 miles with no accidents. When he was home, his children loved playing baseball and going hunting with him and climbing up in 'ole smokey' his truck, pretending to be driving while listening to his music on the 8-track player. His sons went with him often on the road, and of course he insisted they learn how to drive his rig - 13 on the floor. No automatics in those days."
