Colson, 64, prominent Piscataquis businessman, died Friday morning at the Eastern Maine General hospital, Bangor. He was born in Guilford July 17, 1887 son of Lewis and Dora (Hammond) Colson, a lifelong resident of Guilford, he was educated in Guilford schools and at an early age learned the stonecutters trade from his father and continued in that work for 50 years. He established the L. L. Colson Monumental Works in Guilford 35 years ago, a business which has grown and expanded until presently its products are sold throughout New England. He was a member of Mt. Kineo lodge A. F. and A. M., Almeda chapter O.E.S., Guilford Chamber of Commerce; past president of the Lawn Cemetery Association, Guilford for a number of years and he had served on the board of Selectmen for several terms. Since his retirement three years ago Mr. and Mrs. Colson have spent their winters in Florida. Mr Colson is survived by his wife, Hattie (Cressy) Colson; two daughters, Miss Velma Colson of New York City and Mrs. W. Frank Clark of Portsmouth, N. H.; one son, Linwood Colson, Jr. of Guilford; two brothers, Edwin B. and Ormon of Guilford and two grandchildren."

John's will is dated 26 April 1619 and Roger's 26 June 1624 (bequeathing to his brother John).
