Ellis, authored a note in "Notes and Queries" (5th Series, 10:402-03) stating that Fladd (or Fleance) is the eleventh century ancestor of the Stuarts and FitzAlans, and "certainly came from Brittany, and occurs there about 1075 as Fledald, the younger brother and heir of Alan, the seneschal of Dol. In "Notes and Queries" (7th Series, 6:355) Ellis further explains his careful research and its conclusion. The Stuarts used their connection with Fleance and his marriage to the Welsh princess to claim a genealogical link with the legendary King Arthur. [45011] James obituary from the Bangor Daily News 10 May 2010: "James Russell Wardwell, 59, died quietly on Mothers Day, May 9, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 23, 1950, the son of William 'Bill' and Ruth (Colby) Wardwell. He graduated from Bucksport High School in 1968. He was a sergeant with the 26 Security Police Squadron, U.S. Air Force, at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany, with temporary duty in Greece, Turkey and England. He attended University of Maine at Farmington for a year and then graduated from Eastern Maine Vocational Technical Institute in 1976. He worked for the city of Bangor for many years and at the time of his death, worked for security at Verso Paper, Bucksport. He is survived by his mother; his loving wife, Julia (LaPoint) Wardwell; three brothers, Dana, Timothy and Frank; one sister, Ellen McElvain; many nieces and nephews who will miss him. He is also survived by stepchildren, Ericka, Brandee and Ben; and one stepgrandchild, Patrick, who he was helping to raise. He was predeceased by his father; and one sister, Joyce Andrews. Julia and Jim shared a love that will never end. Forever plus three."

[11696] Davis settled in the 1770s at Beech Hill in the Town of Mount Desert, ME. "Vital Records of Mount Desert Island, Maine...,1776-1820" (Maine Genealogical Society Special Pub. No. 4, Camden, ME: Picton Press, 1990), p. 49, lists him as a Captain, and the original VR gives his name as "Mr Daves Wasgatt" - his wife and children are given as well. Find A Grave lists these children of Davis and Rachel: Sarah Hynes Wasgatt Clark (1784-1844), David Richardson Wasgatt (1790-1861) & Asa Wasgatt (1793-1879).
