[23149] Lydia is not on some lists of the children of John Archer and Elizabeth Tupper, and the birth date given here indicates she was born before their marriage. She may be in the wrong family and is perhaps a sister of John Archer, Sr. Mary Direxa Haynes notes in "Maine Families in 1790, Vol. 4," Joseph Crook Anderson II and Louis Ware Thurston, editors (Camden, ME: Picton Press, 1994), p. 12 that Lydia was born before her parents married, and that her marriage intention is dated August 1798 in Columbia, ME to George Tenney who served in the War for Independence. "Maine Families in 1790, Vol. 3", p. 275 gives Lydia's marriage to George Tenney, Jr. (he d. ca. 1764, d. 31 March 1854, m. int. August 1798 in Columbia, ME), son of George Tenney (baptised in Falmouth, ME 7 July 1728, son of John Tenney and Deborah Ingersoll of Marblehead, MA [George, Sr. d. in Centerville after 1810, m. 19 May 1759 in Falmouth to Bethail Elwell (b. ca. 1738 in Cape Elizabeth to David Elwell and Sarah Mariner; d. ca. 1842 in Centerville), settled below Columbia Falls at Pleasant River ca. 1776 and later moved to Centerville, ME - George served as a corporal in Capt.
