"The Des Moines Register, 28 April 1985," p. 25: "Dexter, Ia. - Services for William Ward Paullin, 84, of Dexter, who died of a heart attack Friday at Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church here. Burial will be in Dexter Cemetery. Mr. Paullin was born in rural Earlham and lived In Dexter most of his life. He retired as owner of Paullin Produce Co. in Dexter. Survivors include three sons, Richard of San Diego, Calif., Ronald of Blue Springs, Mo., and James of Greenfield; one daughter, Judith Wren of Lakewood, Calif.; two sisters, Eva Morford of Dexter and Myrtle Witkowski of Des Moines; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren." After Anna Mae died William married Luese _____ (1913-1981), buried with him.

F) during the War Between the States and was 30 yrs. old at the time. He had migrated from New York following the lumber and saw mills. He suffered sun stroke at the Battle of Gettysburg, and his name is on the Ohio Memorial on the battlefield. He was honorably discharged before the war was over. He and his wife Elizabeth are buried in the old Woodville Cemetery. For information concerning his service, see the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center's Civil War Soldiers Database."
