In the 1st year of King Richard II, he being constituted admiral of the king's fleet in the westwards, and soon after that to the southwards, was retained by indenture to serve the king at sea for one quarter of a year, in the company of John, Duke of Lancaster, King of Castile. He was afterwards engaged for some years in Scotland; and was in the commission (9th year of Edward II), for the trial of Michael de la Pole, and some others of the king's favorites, whom the Commons had then impeached. He was appointed the next year admiral of the whole fleet, and putting to sea encountered and vanquished the united fleets of France and Spain, taking no less than 100 ships, great and small, all laden with wines, comprising 19,000 tons. This gallant exploit he followed up by entering the port of Brest, and reducing one of the castles and burning the other. He now returned to England in great triumph, but had the encounter the jealousy and hatred of the king's favorites, particularly the Duke of Ireland, whose influence over the king he strenuously resisted. His lordship afterwards entered into the confederation of the Earls of Warwick and Derby, which assembled in arms at Haringhay Park (now Hornsey), in Middlesex, and compelled the king to acquiesce in their views. He was then, by the general consent of the parliament (11th year of Richard II), made Governor of the castle and town of Brest, and shortly after captain-general of the king's fleet at sea, with commission to treat of peace with John de Montfort, then Duke of Brittany; whereupon hoisting his flag, soon after met with the enemy, of whose ships he sunk and took fourscore; entered the Isle of Rhe, which he burnt and spoiled, and several other ports which he likewise plundered, putting to flight all the French and Britons that made any resistance. From this memorable period in the life of Lord Arundel, little is known of him, until the 15th year of Richard, when the king regaining his power, summoned a parliament at Westminster, and dismissed several of the great officers of state, amongst whom his lordship was removed from his command as admiral; and in two years afterwards, the parliament then sitting, he was accused of treason by the Duke of Lancaster, but escaped for the moment, and sought to retire from public life. The king entertaining, however, the strongest feeling of personal enmity to all those who had previously opposed his minions, contrived to get the Earl of Arundel into his hands by stratagem, and having sent him prisoner to the Isle of Wight, brought him to immediate trial, when he was condemned to be hanged, drawn, and quartered as a traitor. The sentence was however somewhat mitigated, and the gallant nobleman was simply beheaded at Cheapside, in the city of London, in the 21st year of King Richard II, the king himself being a spectator, and Thomas de Mowbray, Earl Marshal (who had married his daughter), the executioner, who, bound up his eyes, and according to some, the person who actually struck off his head. It is stated that when the earl saw his son-in-law, Mowbray, and the Earl of Kent, his nephew, guarding him to the place of execution, he told them, it had been much more fit that they should have absented themselves; "For the time will come." he said, "when as many shall wonder at your misfortune as they now do at mine." "The Perry County Democrat [Bloomfield, Pennsylvania], 17 June 1908," p. 3: "William Hall, a former well-known and highly respected resident of this county, died at the home of his son, E. Grant Hall, in Fairmont, Neb., on Saturday evening, aged 86 years. His death was indirectly due to an accident which he sustained last December, when be fell and broke one of his hip bones, since which he had never been able to walk. It is also thought that he had a light stroke. His remains were brought east and passed through here today on the way to Landisburg, where the funeral will take place tomorrow (Thursday) morning at 10 o'clock. The deceased was a son of Jonathan and Elizabeth (Long) Hall and was born in Toboyne township in October, 1822. He moved from New Germantown to Alinda in 1865 and for the past twenty years had been living in the west. Mr. Hall was the father of ten children, eight of whom survive, namely: Rev. G. C. Hall, D. D., Wilmington, Del.; Matilda, (Mrs. Samuel Rice) Landisburg; Sarah, (Mrs. James Rhine-smith) Alinda ; Mary, (Mrs. D. J. Kell) of this place; William, Fairmont, Neb.; Maggie, (Mrs. Sylvester Spotts) Abilene, Kan.; Anna, (Mrs. George E. Aldrich) and E. Grant Hall), Fairmont, Neb. Mr. Hall when a young man became a member of the Reformed church, under the pastorate of Rev. Leinbach, After going west, there being no Reformed church near the place of his residence, he connected himself with the Congregational church. He was an honorable, conscientious, christian gentleman and lived a life of probity and usefulness, and when his summons came was ready to go. His memory will ever be cherished and revered by bis children and many friends."

Grand daughter of William Oddingseles of Solihull Staffordshire and his wife Joan, Walter FitzRobert and Ida Longespee. Wife of Sir John de Grey of Rotherfield, son of Sir Robert de Grey and Joan de Valoines, daughter of Thomas of Shabbington. The had one son, John, who would marry Katherine FitzAlan. Sir John died 17 Oct 1311. Secondly, wife of Sir Robert de Moreby of Moreby Yorkshire, purveyor for Queen Isabel's household and constable of Brecknock and Knaresborough Castles. They were married between 21 Oct 1312 and 1316, and had one son, William. 21 April 1330: Robert de Moreby and his wife, Margaret, granted free warren in the manors of Cogges, Oxfordshire, Sculcoates and Upton (in Badworth), Yorkshire, and Weeford, Staffordshire for the life of the said Margaret, and, after her decease, to her son, John de Grey, and his heirs [Reference: Cal. Charter Rolls, 4 (1912): 168] Margaret died after her husband died in 1311 (resources differ), and was buried in a lavish tomb in the North Chapel at Cogges, Oxfordshire."

[41572] "The Selinsgrove Times-Tribune, 10 January 1929," p. 5: "Port Trevorton - Augustus Troutman, retired merchant of Port Trevorton, passed away at his late residence Thursday evening, January 3rd, at the age of 84 years. He was married to Priscilla Ebright on December 22. 1867. Sixty-one years of wedded life was ended by his demise. In 1899, Mr. Troutman built the store and dwelling now occupied by Jere G. Snyder, where he conducted a general store for seventeen years, retiring from business about thirteen years ago. He was the second oldest of a family of eleven children, five of whom are still living: Mrs. Louisa Romberger, of Williamstown; Mrs. Ida Raudenbush and Mrs. Jennie Derrick, of Herndon; Mrs. Agnes Rine, of Goihenberg, Nebraska, and William Troutman, of Freeburg. Three children also survive: George Troutman, of Port Trevorton, Mrs. Estella Beale, of Lcmoyne, and Miss Kathryn, at home. Four grandchildren and three great-grand children also survive. He was an active member of the Evangelical Church for 61 years."

Charles Williams Genealogy: Gives descent as Howel1, Morgan2, Thomas3, John4, Richard5, John6, William7--Richard of Taunton8. He was married to Jane (2nd Wife) Woodward on 4 Dec 1603 in Synwell, Glous, Eng. Reference Williams: Another authority gives the Welsh descent of the family and states that William Williams of Huntington married as his second wife, Jane Woodward, and that their son, Richard Williams, was born in England, came to New England, settling first at Dorchester, Massachusetts, in 1633, and removing to Taunton, Massachusetts; that he and his sister, Elizabeth (then both in New England), were legatees under the will of their sister, Jane of Whetenhurste, Gloucestershire, dated May 30, 1650, and proved June 3, 1655. Richard Williams was a freeman of Plymouth, June 5, 1644, but returned to Dorchester, where he was a town officer in 1658.
