"The Ellsworth American, 28 April 2015": "Hancock - Jane Perkins Alley, 77, was called home to God in the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was born on July 11, 1937, to Percy Sargent Perkins and Hazel Tapley Perkins of Brooksville. In her teen years, Jane worked as a counselor at Seal Bay Camp in Brooksville. She attended Husson College after graduating from George Stevens Academy in 1955. She was looking very much forward to attending her 60th GSA class reunion this June. As a young, single mother raising three children, Jane worked as a secretary, bookkeeper at Callahan and Kerramerican mines before a 21-year tenure as a bookkeeper and payroll accountant at George Stevens. She performed bookkeeping/payroll duties for several small contractors and prepared tax returns. Jane enjoyed knitting, her daily newspaper, playing golf with her husband, researching family genealogy and attracting hummingbirds. She never missed a televised game of her Boston Red Sox. She doted on her sweet cats, Zeus and Halo. Jane is survived by her sister, Joanne Kief of Hancock and brother, Jon Perkins of Lamoine. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Joannie and her husband, Ed Wardwell of Penobscot, son Tony Wyckoff of New Salem, N.C., son Tim Wyckoff and daughter Teri Strong, both of Hancock. She adored her grandchildren; Jeremiah, Jarrod and Joshua Alley, Ariana and Heather Wardwell, Timothy Wyckoff, Riley Russell, Margaret Wyckoff, Danielle White, and great-granddaughter, Alyssa Wyckoff. Jane was predeceased by Phillip Alley of Blue Hill, her beloved husband of 20 years, as well as her stepson, Kevin Alley, originally of Blue Hill. She will be grieved and greatly missed by many dear friends and relatives in Downeast Maine. Jane passed on what would have been her husbands 82nd birthday."

Barry's obituary: "Barry Dale Strout, 86, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Barry was born in Dexter, on February 3, 1939, to Chester R. Strout and Thurley E. Strout. He was proud that his grandfather Dr. Arthur Strout delivered him. He attended Dexter schools and graduated from Dexter High in 1957. Later that year he married the love of his life, Adrienne Ellen (James) Strout, and began a two-year Agriculture course at UMO. He was a dairy farmer for many years and ran a farm in Dexter before moving to Cornville in 1961. He and Adrienne ran the Cornville farm for 18 years while raising their four children there. In 1979, his eldest son Jimmy took over the farm and Barry began a new career at Hart Transportation. After retiring from Hart, he and Adrienne started an antique business traveling to Brimfield, Pennsylvania, and Florida. At age 80, his lifelong dream of owning and pulling a draft horse came to fruition. He and Adrienne spent many hours at the Libby Farm working the horses and attending horse pulling events. He was very proud when one of his children or grandchildren joined him on the sidelines. Barry also loved spending time in his workshop, channeling his Gramp Seldon, building replicas of the egg crates from his dadÂ’s poultry farm. He loved researching his family history and enjoyed connecting with people who were distantly related. He was a third generation Mason and member of the Penobscot Lodge in Dexter. No matter what he put his mind to, he did it with commitment and passion whether it be a husband, dad, Grandpa, Grumpy, Papa, farmer, antiquer, genealogist, builder, or horseman. Dad never missed an opportunity to spend time with family at the camp on Lake Wassookeag or anywhere they might be gathering. He was a hardworking, serious man of few words, earning him the titles of 'The Bear' and 'Grumpy.' Spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought him great joy and allowed him to be silly with the youngest ones. Anyone who knew him knew his pride and love for his family ran deep. Barry was predeceased by his parents; brother, Bruce Kent, granddaughter, Desiree Marie Strout; and great grandson, Gage Weeks. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Adrienne Ellen (James) Strout; children, James Strout Sr. and wife Leanne, Kelly Burns and husband Jim, Jody Strout and wife Kelley, and Jeffrey Strout; grandchildren, Jamie Strout and wife Karen, Rob Strout, Jessica Strout, Brett Strout and wife Michelle, Greg Strout and partner Krissy, Haley Labrie and husband Mike, Jacob Burns, Jesse Strout and partner Tabby, Danica Strout and partner Zack, Allison Polluck and husband Tyler, and Brittany Moon; step-grandchildren, Greg Burns, Laurie Flynn, and Heather Bingelis and husband Mark; 18 great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and cousins."
