He lived in Evansville . . . in 2007. He died about 2007, at the age of 72." "Evansille Courier & Press [Evansville, Indiana]," 29 June 2007: "Neil Brian Schurman, of Evansville, born in South Harbor, Maine, on May 26, 1936, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Sunday, June 24, 2007. Growing up, he lived in California. Neil received the China Service Medal while serving in the U.S. Navy. He became active in Indiana politics, serving on congressional campaigns and the UMWA State Compac. Neil was a member of VFW Post No. 2953 and American Legion Post No. 0044. After retiring from Peabody Coal Company, being an avid golfer, Neil worked at Victoria National Golf Club until his death. His greatest love was family and being involved in his grandchildren's activities. Neil attended Crossroads Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy, Mount Carmel, Ill.; father, Walter Parker Schurman; and stepfather, Frank E. Hallen, California. Neil is survived by his mother, Hilda G. Ellis Hallen of California; wife, Carol of Evansville; son, Steven Craig Schurman and his wife, Ann, of Mount Carmel, Ill.; and daughter, Susan Michelle Zeeb and her husband, John, of Mount Carmel, Ill.; daughter, Shara Peck, and daughter, Kelly Wickiser and her husband, Steve, of Newburgh; daughter, Toni Holland of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Claudia Sepulvida and Karen Berry of California; brothers, Ellis, Kevin and Michael Hallen of California, and Kenton Hallen of Arkansas; and nine grandchildren, Christopher, Rachael, Jessica and Jordon, of Mount Carmel, Ill., Samantha of Atlanta, Ga., and Zack, Colten, Ali and Sidney of Newburgh."
