[6568] Find A Grave memorial 206007756 offers Dawn's obituary: "Dawn Pinkham Crocker, aged 89, passed away on Thanksgiving Thursday, Nov. 28th, 2019. Dawn was born on January 26th,1930 in Castine, Maine to John Ames and Bernice Conner; she grew up in Portland, Maine. Dawn studied to be a nurse and received her degree from Massachusetts General Hospital. While still in training, Dawn fell in love with Darwin Pinkham and in August, 1951, they married and raised one daughter, Judith Ames Pinkham. After receiving her registered nursing degree in Boston, Dawn worked as a nurse at the South Shore Hospital in South Weymouth, Massachusetts. She later found her true calling and worked with passionate commitment as an elder care advocate for the Eastern Area Agency for Aging in Bangor, Maine. During her retirement from her advocacy for the aging, she found satisfaction working as a literacy volunteer in Orono, Maine. Dawn had a gift and passion for writing poetry inspired by her beloved Maine coast. She loved cooking and baking the traditional Maine meals of her grandmothers and was the designated Family Pie Queen for every occasion. She took great pride in keeping an immaculate home, grew and tended her flowers, and her daughter and husband proudly wore the beautiful clothes she lovingly sewed and knitted for them. She was deeply devoted to her faith and was a long-time member of the Methodist church of Orono, Maine. Dawn is predeceased by her husbands C. Darwin Pinkham and the Reverend Clayton Crocker and by her sister, Gayle Morrisey. She is survived by her daughter Judith Pinkham, her grandson Adam Cataldo, her nieces Kate, Carole, and Alison, her nephew William, her cousins Jan and Coleen, and her six great nieces and nephews."
