Married Mary Machell who was born in 1574, also in Aller, Langport, Somerset, England, and died in Dec 1634. (sources: ancestral file 92D0-V5 and 92D0-WD - from Ancestral File (TM), data as of 2 January 1996) Fellow of Emmanuel College, and later until his death was rector at Aller's St. Andrew's Church. His widow married a Dr. Stoughtman, who then became the rector at St. Andrews until 1632, when he and Mary moved to St. Mary's of Aldermanbury, London, where Dr. Stoughton continued to preach. Father of Gen. James Cudworth, who was shunned by his puritan community for his tolerance attitude toward the Quakers in Plymouth Colony. This son became a leader in the King Phillip War, in spite of his feelings for tolerances, and at the elder age of seventy, along the Mount of Hope area. Also father of Ralph Cudworth, author of 'Intellectual System'."
